Motion Control driver is composed of API-SMC(WDM) and API-SMC(98/PC).
Please note that the driver who can use it with the board is different. (For details, please refer to 3. Specification Comparison)

4. Features of API-SMC(WDM)

Easy to install and set up the driver

After a device is searched out, follow the wizard direction to install the driver.
After installation, you should just make a decision of the device name in property page of device manager.

Is API-SMC(WDM) compatible with API-SMC(98/PC)?
Will API-SMC(98/PC) not be sold in the future?
Can API-SMC(98/PC) be changed to API-SMC(WDM) if it is being used at present?

A. Both API-SMC(WDM) driver and API-SMC(98/PC) driver are not compatible each other.

Please keep on using API-SMC(98/PC) if you still use existing system.
When the change of the board used is examined, we will recommend the use of API-SMC(WDM).

A. The supprt board is different.
It is necessary to change to the board used additionally.

A. Because the object board is different, the system can be constructed by existing together.
